Where do I start – because of your fantastic successes in the Cross Country League earlier this year, I have decided to separate the two sports. Once again your individual performances, from the Elite members of our club down to those who have only competed in a few events, just continue to amaze me and make it very difficult to single out individuals. The Season, wow what a success. Out of the 4 categories we entered –Tristar 1 to 3 and Youth we finished the season with 8 League Podium positions and two of those were 1st places. This is a phenomenal achievement when taking into account that although 21 members competed in events throughout the season only 15 members competed in 5 or more events which enabled them to obtain those high ranking positions in the Triathlon England Eastern Region League. In addition to those league achievements, we had four members this season in the Regional Triathlon Academy and two members qualified for selection to represent the Eastern Region at the British Inter Regional Championships in Durham. Those two achieved very creditable individual rankings of 15th and 16th in their respective categories against what is considered by British Triathlon to be the top 154 eleven to sixteen year olds in the country – a tremendous performance by both. Just look at all those achievements, from a club which is a quarter of the size of many of the others who you compete against. You make your parents, my fellow coaches and me so proud of you all and the hard work of training you so worthwhile. We must now look forward to achieve further success in the 2011/2012 Cross Country events and a dedicated hard working winter training programme, to build up those reserves for the 2012 Triathlon season. Well Done to All. |
