VIC RAE Vic Rae
British Triathlon Level One Qualified Coach (April 2009).
I have always had a keen interest in sports and in my younger  days competed at Scottish Schoolboy standard for 800 and 1500 meters, but my running days came to an end 30 years ago when I began having to work for a living. The only running I then did was for fitness purposes. My interest in triathlons began some three years ago when my son Arran joined Discovery Tri, followed a year later by my daughter Alexandra. Prior to joining Discovery they had both taken part in triathlons and were keen to take it up seriously. On joining Discovery I found that I enjoyed being an active member of the club and this progressed to taking the level one coaching course and being able to take coaching session together with Wendy, Ian and Melissa. Through my involvement in coaching at Discovery it has renewed my love for sport and I now take a keen interest in learning more about triathlon coaching. I have also become a keen cyclist and together with Arran we have started going out most weekends to do 20 to 30 mile rides. Who knows where this will lead to!!!
